LASIK, Bladeless LASIK, Epi-LASIK - which are all wavefront optimized - and also implantable contact lens (ICL). With these above surgical procedures, EEC therefore able to provide the type of surgery we consider to be the most appropriate for our patients.

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a non-inflammatory, usually bilateral, progressive disease where there is an inherent weakness of the Cornea Collagen. It is characterized by a progressive thinning and weakening of the cornea that result in a cone-shape cornea. The cone-shaped will result in a distorted vision due to irregular astigmatism.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye. This causes vision to be blurred or blocked, phobia to lights or even color desaturation. EEC offers a comprehensive range of Presbyopia treatment options to suit the unique needs of our patients. As a result of our established reputation in cataract treatment, EEC was chosen by one of the world's largest eyecare company to be Singapore representative site to conduct the Phase 4 clinical trials for their latest multi-focal lens implants.

Presbyopia (Lao Hua Yan)

Presbyopia, commonly known as "Lao Hua Yan", is the gradual loss of one's ability to focus on near objects as we age. As a centre that specialises in Presbyopia, EEC offers all forms of Presbyopia treatments Monovision LASIK, Multifocal Lens Implants, Multifocal Contact Lens, Spectacle Progressive Lenses. Dr. Julian Theng also authored the book "A long-sighted look at Presbyopia" in 2007 to educate the public on Presbyopia.

Myopia is the medical term for nearsightedness or short sight. EEC's Myopia Control Program targets at reducing the progression of myopia in children. We are proud to announce that 100% of the children, who have since been enrolled in the Eagle Myopia Control Program, have experienced no increase in myopia, the program has shown a highly promising result with an 80% reduction in myopia progression over a 2 years span.

Age-Related Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration is an age-related medical condition which results in a loss of vision in the centre of the visual field because of damage to the retina. It is a major cause of blindness in the elderly. Macular degeneration can make it difficult or impossible to read or recognize faces.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a leading cause of irreversible blindness in the world and accounts for 40% of blindness in Singapore. People of different races and ages are affected by glaucoma. It is often called the ‘silent thief of sight’ as patients often do not have symptoms until in advanced disease. Early detection and treatment will prevent irreversible visual loss and blindness from glaucoma.

Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the retina caused by complications of diabetes mellitus, which can eventually lead to blindness. It affects up to 80% of all patients who have had diabetes for 10 years or more.

Ocular Inflammation & Uveitis

Uveitis specifically refers to any inflammation involving the interior of the eye. Uveitis is a serious condition and requires urgent treatment to control the inflammation.

Colour Vision Deficiency & Dyslexia Screening and Treatment

Eagle Eye Centre has newly equipped a patented diagnostic system for the management of Academic Skills Disorder that includes dyslexia, colour vision deficiency, dyspraxia (lack of coordination, clumsiness), and other learning related difficulties. This FDA approved system offers a range of eight coloured filters and is available with prescription in both spectacle and contact lens modality.

Pterygium

A pterygium is a reddish, fleshy tissue that grows in a triangular shape over the cornea. It usually occurs on the inner corner of the eye and grows towards the pupil. EEC offers patients the solution of surgically removing the pterygium.

Eagle MyoVision Program

Myopia affects over 1.6 billion people globally, with two thirds of sufferers in Asia. Scientists from Australia have found that myopia progression can be reduced with a new lens technology. This ground breaking discovery was based on research conducted by University of Houston College of Optometry and the Brien Holden Vision Institute, located at the University of New South Wales.

Corneal Transplant

Corneal Transplant is a surgical procedure to restore vision to those blind from corneal diseases, infections, age-related corneal degenerations or damaged corneas due to injuries. Corneal transplant is a very delicate surgical procedure and is best performed by very experienced cornea Ophthalmologists. EEC has been privileged to perform numerous challenging corneal transplant surgeries. With an overall transplant success rate exceeding 90%, some of our post corneal transplant patients even achieve good vision after surgery.
