1) LASIK & Refractive Surgery
EEC provides all forms of refractive surgery available today - Wavefront Optimised LASIK, Epi-LASIK, Bladeless LASIK and even Implantable Contact Lenses (ICL). Of the first 1000 LASIK surgeries performed at EEC, 99% of all patients achieved a visual success of 6/12 (driving vision) or better without glasses and without the need for visual enhancements. Furthermore, 100% of all patients who had Bladeless LASIK, Epi-LASIK and ICL at EEC achieved 6/9 vision or better without glasses.
2) Presbyopia (Lao Hua Yan)
Presbyopia, commonly known as "Lao Hua Yan", is the gradual loss of one's ability to focus on near objects as we age. As a centre that specialises in Presbyopia, EEC offers all forms of Presbyopia treatments - Monovision LASIK, Multifocal Lens Implants, Multifocal Contact Lens, Spectacle Progressive Lenses. Dr Julian Theng authored the book "A long-sighted look at Presbyopia" in 2007 to educate the public on Presbyopia.
3) Cataract Surgery
Cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eye. This causes vision to be blurred or blocked, phobia to lights or even color desaturation. For EEC's first 800 cases, we achieved a 99.99% visual success rate. As a result of our established reputation in cataract treatment, EEC was chosen by Alcon to be Singapore 's representative site to conduct the Phase 4 clinical trials for Alcon's latest multi-focal lens implants.
4) Myopia Control Program
Myopia is the medical term for nearsightedness or short sight. EEC's “Myopia Control Program” focuses on reducing the progression of myopia in children. EEC is proud to announce that 100% of the children, who have since been enrolled in the Eagle Myopia Control Program, have experienced no increase in myopia. The program has shown a highly promising result, with an 80% reduction in myopia progression over two years.
5) Corneal Transplant
Corneal Transplant is a surgical procedure to restore vision to those who are blind due to corneal diseases, infections, age-related corneal degenerations or injury damage to corneas. Corneal transplant is a very delicate surgical procedure and is best performed by experienced cornea specialists. EEC has been privileged to perform numerous challenging corneal transplant surgeries. With an overall transplant success rate exceeding 90%, some of our post corneal transplant patients even achieve 6/6 vision after surgery.
6) Ocular Inflammation & Uveitis
Uveitis specifically refers to any inflammation involving the interior of the eye. Uveitis is a serious condition and requires urgent treatment to control the inflammation.
7) Age-Related Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is an age-related medical condition, which results in a loss of vision in the centre of the visual field, due to damage to the retina. It is a major cause of blindness in the elderly. Macular degeneration can make it difficult or impossible to read or recognize faces.
8) Glaucoma & Diabetic Eye Screening & Treatment
Glaucoma is one of the complications of diabetes. Glaucoma is damage to the optic nerve due to high pressure inside the eyeball. It has been described as a "silent thief" as it steals the vision slowly. If left untreated or poorly treated, glaucoma may lead to deterioration in the vision and may result in partial or complete loss of vision.
9) Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is damage to the retina caused by complications of diabetes mellitus, which can eventually lead to blindness. It affects up to 80% of all patients who have had diabetes for 10 years or more.
10) Pterygium
A pterygium is a reddish, fleshy tissue that grows in a triangular shape over the cornea. It usually occurs on the inner corner of the eye and grows towards the pupil. EEC offers patients the solution of surgically removing the pterygium.
11) Other Specialist Services
EEC is a one-stop centre for other specialist eye treatments, which include Dry Eyes Treatment, Contact Lens Fitting, Optical Services, etc.
